Who are Philanthropunks? 

Philanthopunks are a grassroots group raising money the punk way for charities who don’t receive any government funding. Since starting Philanthopunks, we’ve raised over £15,000 through activities such as music gigs, punk bingo, rock karaoke, social events, and film screenings, as well as through t-shirt sales, beer sales, and donations.

We’re based out of a location in Stratford (Escape Bar), a safe space venues at the heart of the community, and this year we’re raising money for a charity that is close to our community, and that is providing vitally important support to vulnerable people across East London.

Which charity are we raising for?

We’re fundraising in aid of Hackney Night Shelter in 2024 - Hackney Night Shelter | Home (hackneydoorways.org.uk)

At the end of the year 100% of all money raised will go to this charity.

Why are we contacting you? 

We're now seeking to partner with organisations, who – like us – were started with hard work, determination, and a DIY ethos. We also want to partner with people who share our social values, who want to make a difference, and who care about their community, so we're hoping you might be able to help make this year of Philanthropunks fundraising even bigger and better!

How can you help?

There are several ways we're seeking help…

1. Sponsorship of an upcoming event - Pub Quizzes, Comedy, a 5k Run, a social event, or one of our gigs later in the year.

2. Matching some or all of the money we raise throughout the year at the fundraising events.

3. Providing prizes for the competitive events throughout the year.

What will you get in return?

We will promote your organisation on our website, promote you on social media highlighting the social responsibility involved in supporting the above charity work, and invite one of your team to record a podcast/video to promote what you do and talk about how you're supporting the organisations and making a difference. Plus of course invites to all the social events we run throughout the year!
